Carbonate hardness or buffering capacity is the measure of alkalinity in the aquarium water and the ability of the system to prevent pH swings. Over time carbonate hardness can be depleted and this additive allows the user to restore the hardness to optimum levels

Dosing is really down to consumption levels within the tank, and for this reason we recommend using a good quality test kit. As this is a powder, you?ll need to mix half a teaspoon per 100 litres of system water with a small cup of tank water before adding it to the aquarium. Be sure not to exceed this dosage on a daily basis and our recommendation would be to go for the liquid variety as it is easier to use.
