Product Description
ZEOSpur 2 has the ability to dramatically alter and improve the colouration of SPS corals in a ZEOvit system. It does this by reducing the outer layer density of Zooxanthellae within the coral. This results in the underlying colour being exposed and a the corals colour looking far brighter and in some cases luminous. It is most effective with Acropora, Anacropora and Montipora although all corals will be affected to some extent.
Dosing in this case is extremely important. An overdose could strip the coral of too much of its Zooxanthellae putting it under stress and at risk of bleaching. An underdose will result in the Zooxanthellae not being thinned enough and no discernable change being seen. For this reason, we recommend that you dose no more than 1ml per 100 litres once every 3 weeks. When you dose, you will see a significant change in coral colour within 48 hours (normally it is less than 18 hours). Over the coming 3 weeks this will fade somewhat, at which point you can then dose again to bring back the colour. The second and future doses should not be as much as the coral will maintain an improved colour over its initial starting point. You will need to experiment to get the right level but we recommend halving it to start with. You should not attempt to use this additive until the system is completely stable on the ZEOvit method. If you use it during the transition period, you run the risk of putting too much stressing the corals and damaging them.
Finally, although there are risks to using ZEOSpur 2 Concentrate we must stress that the results are very impressive and provided you use it sensibly you will receive all of the benefits and none of the associated problems.
